Live Events: The Carbon Neutral Book Tour

ROAT1-28

*The first leg (hardcover tour) has now ended, but please support your local bookstore and let me know if you’d like to arrange a full-body, sustainable reading/slide show or speaking engagement. Below were the first legs dates.*

With the release of Farewell, My Subaru, I’ll be putting on a full-body reading and slide show across North America illustrating the carbon neutral misadventures here at the Funky Butte Ranch. This’ll be in March, April and May. I’d love to see you come by, and I promise you’ll leave smiling, if only with relief that you’ve not suffered the near-electrocutions, coyote assaults and other humiliations I have in the course of getting oil out of my life. Check this link regularly as the event bookings are growing. For the middle of the country and West Coast, I’ll be driving the R.O.A.T. (Ridiculously Oversized American Truck) I’ve described (and gotten the vicious munchies from) in these Dispatches. For events to which I have to fly, I’ll be figuring out carbon offsets. Hence the “Carbon Neutral Book Tour.”

Hey, Doug –

Heard you on “Think” on KERA radio in Dallas. Great show. Sent in a question, via e-mail, but didn’t get it aired. Just ordered your book.

Hey Melissa and Natalie -

I just finished Doug’s book. It was inspiring. When will Doug come to Austin, Texas for a book signing?

P.S. Stay away from his Roses.

I was looking over your book tour schedule and it seems to me that you are sprinkling your cheap Chinese food scent over only cool western cities. You need to point the ROAT due east and head on out to Wichita, KS. I know Wichita has the reputation of being a little bit backwards (it is), but we have some really kick ass farmer’s markets and a great independent book store (Watermark). On top of great locally grown food Wichita also boasts of having a guy who makes vehicles go really, really fast on vegetable oil: http://www.hlineconversion.com/tv-media.php
