Nice hat or camo you got there, just kidding. Get yourself something with a bit less kick. You'll enjoy yourself a lot more. Give bowhunting a try it's a lot of fun too.

Doug if you really want to learn to shoot and hunt then get yourself a .22 rifle, a 550 round box of ammo for about $10 from Walmart, and a book on the subject of rifle marksmanship from the library. With that you can learn to shoot well, not get the crap kicked out of you like with a a high powered rifle or a shotgun, and not spend much dinero. By the time you have learned the stuff in the book (especially the chapter on safety), and burned up all that ammo shooting holes in beer cans, you should be a pretty good shot. Then start hunting cottontails with that rifle. Only hunt them in the winter when the cold weather will cull out the sick ones, and when the momma rabbits aren't having babies. Learn to sneak around quietly and blend in with nature. When you can see them before they run, and hit them in the head with your first shot, you will be ready to start hunting deer, elk, etc.

It's just like learning any other basic human skill (like walking, swimming, making a pot of beans and chile, etc). And your beans and chile will taste a lot better if you have some meat to throw in the pot.

Thanks for your website. It's one of my favorite places.

They also make another, called the bow and arrow. My children are all expert with this weapon of choice as well as with firearms. They are also leaders in our community in teaching survival skills to the other youth through 4H and other programs.

They do make a gun without the kick of a mule. It's called an AK-47.

But anyway, I think you'll be fine on fish and eggs. I am!

Cheers.
